my thoughts on "ai"

i hate it

thanks for reading

actually ehhhhhh, to be honest. i absolutely see why people use LLMs and, see some use cases for myself like translation (maybe?), going through large amount of data to parse something, checking for grammar mistakes and such. for some models it can be used for tedious tasks like camera tracking in vfx, masking out subjects in videos.

BUT

it is also used for wild stuff: information pollution, propaganda, creating hate, scams, letting it think for you, replacing humans, replacing art... and the companies/governments behind them are all for it. it is an incredible tool to drown out the real information. you might've started questioning whether the the article you've been reading or video you've beem watching is ai or not, it is extremely exhausting fact check everything you consume, thus this leads to your perception of reality being distorted. ever so slightly with each bit of computer written text you read, each bit of music you consume.

it is taking our jobs and making the global economy worse, corporations are advertising these stuff as a replacement for humans. replace your support agent with ai today!! (here's an epic fail) or hire a machine instead of an actual person!!

as it stands, overall ai makes the internet and our society worse. i wish it wasn't as egregious, it could've been (and still can be) user for a lot of good things. atleast when the whole gold rush dies down we'll maybe have something useful in our hands.

p.s. i highly suggest running LLMs in your computer if you have the capablehardware, it's surprisingly easy to get something up and running. here you can find some software to run these.
